O Tempo de Angústia, Qual Nunca Houve
"Nesse tempo Se levantará Miguel, o grande príncipe, o defensor dos filhos do teu povo, e haverá tempo de angústia, qual nunca houve, desde que houve mação até àquele tempo; mas naquele tempo será salvo o. teu povo, todo aquele que foi- achado inscrito no livro". Dan. 12:1.
Quando se encerrar a mensagem do terceiro anjo, a misericórdia não mais pleiteará em favor dos culpados habitantes da Terra. O povo de Deus terá cumprido a sua obra. Recebeu a ".chuva serôdia", o "refrigério pela presença do Senhor", e acha-se preparado para a hora probante que diante dele está. No Céu, anjos apressam-se de um lado para o outro. Um anjo que volta da Terra anuncia que a sua obra está feita; o mundo foi submetido à prova final, e todos os que se mostraram fiéis aos preceitos divinos receberam "o selo do Deus vivo". Cessa então. Jesus de interceder no santuário celestial. Levanta as mãos, e com grande voz diz: "Está feito".
Deixando Ele o santuário, as trevas cobrem os habitantes da Terra. Naquele tempo terrível os justos devem viver à vista de um Deus santo, sem intercessor. Removeu-se a restrição que estivera sobre os ímpios, e Satanás tem domínio completo sobre os que finalmente se encontram impenitentes. Terminou a longanimidade de Deus. O mundo rejeitou a Sua misericórdia, desprezou-Lhe o amor, pisando Sua lei. Os ímpios passaram os limites de seu tempo de graça; o Espírito de Deus, persistentemente resistido, foi, por fim, retirado. Desabrigados da graça divina, não têm proteção con- tra o maligno. Satanás mergulhará então os habitantes da Terra em uma grande angústia final. Ao cessarem os anjos de Deus de conter os ventos impetuosos das paixões humanas, ficarão às soltas todos os elementos de contenda. O mundo inteiro se envolverá em ruína mais terrível do que a que sobreveio a Jerusalém na antigüidade. - GC, 612 e 613.
Somente os que têm mãos limpas e coração puro resistirão no tempo da prova. ... Agora, enquanto os quatro anjos estão contendo os ventos, é o tempo de fazer firme a nossa vocação e eleição. - PE, 58.

TIEMPO DE ANGUSTIA CUAL NUNCA FUE
En aquel tiempo se levantará Miguel, el gran príncipe que está de parte de los hijos de tu pueblo; y será tiempo de angustia, cual nunca fue desde que hubo gente hasta entonces; pero en aquel tiempo será libertado tu pueblo, todos los que se hallen escritos en el libro. (Dan. 12: 1).
Cuando termine el mensaje del tercer ángel la misericordia divina no intercederá más por los habitantes culpables de la tierra. El pueblo de Dios habrá cumplido su obra; habrá recibido la "lluvia tardía", el "refrigerio de la presencia del Señor", y estará preparado para la hora de prueba que le espera. Los ángeles se apuran, van y vienen de acá para allá en el cielo. Un ángel que regresa de la tierra anuncia que su obra está terminada; el mundo ha sido sometido a la prueba final, y todos los que han resultado fieles a los preceptos divinos han recibido "el sello del Dios vivo". Entonces Jesús dejará de interceder en el santuario celestial. Levantará sus manos y con gran voz dirá: "Hecho es". . .
Cuando él abandone el santuario, las tinieblas envolverán a los habitantes de la tierra. Durante ese tiempo terrible, los justos deben vivir sin intercesor, a la vista del santo Dios. Nada refrena ya a los malos y Satanás domina por completo a los impenitentes empedernidos. La paciencia de Dios ha concluido. El mundo ha rechazado su misericordia, despreciado su amor y pisoteado su ley. Los impíos han dejado concluir su tiempo de gracia; el Espíritu de Dios, al que se opusieron obstinadamente, acabó por apartarse de ellos. Desamparados ya de la gracia divina, están a merced de Satanás, el cual sumirá entonces a los habitantes de la tierra en una gran tribulación final. Cuando los ángeles de Dios dejen ya de contener los vientos violentos de las pasiones humanas, todos los elementos de contienda se desencadenarán. El mundo entero será envuelto en una ruina más espantosa que la que cayó antiguamente sobre Jerusalén.*
Únicamente los que tengan manos limpias y corazones puros subsistirán en aquel tiempo de prueba. . . Ahora, mientras los cuatro ángeles están reteniendo los cuatro vientos, es el momento en que debemos asegurar nuestra vocación y elección.*

September 14 - A Time of Trouble Such as Never Was
And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. Dan. 12:1.
When the third angel"s message closes, mercy no longer pleads for the guilty inhabitants of the earth. The people of God have accomplished their work. They have received "the latter rain," "the . . . refreshing . . . from the presence of the Lord," and they are prepared for the trying hour before them. Angels are hastening to and fro in heaven. An angel returning from the earth announces that his work is done; the final test has been brought upon the world, and all who have proved themselves loyal to the divine precepts have received "the seal of the living God." Then Jesus ceases His intercession in the sanctuary above. He lifts His hands and with a loud voice says, "It is done." . . . {Mar 265.1}
When He leaves the sanctuary, darkness covers the inhabitants of the earth. In that fearful time the righteous must live in the sight of a holy God without an intercessor. The restraint which has been upon the wicked is removed, and Satan has entire control of the finally impenitent. God"s long-suffering has ended. The world has rejected His mercy, despised His love, and trampled upon His law. The wicked have passed the boundary of their probation; the Spirit of God, persistently resisted, has been at last withdrawn. Unsheltered by divine grace, they have no protection from the wicked one. Satan will then plunge the inhabitants of the earth into one great, final trouble. As the angels of God cease to hold in check the fierce winds of human passion, all the elements of strife will be let loose. The whole world will be involved in ruin more terrible than that which came upon Jerusalem of old. {Mar 265.2}
Those only who have clean hands and pure hearts will stand in that trying time. . . . Now is the time, while the four angels are holding the four winds, to make our calling and election sure. {Mar 265.3}
